Position Overview

The Tactical Sales Support Trainee will work closely with the Regional Sales Team as well as the SaaS Business Development and Partner Manager Team in order to promote Harmonic’s Video streaming solutions in the assigned territory following the process of getting new business acquisition and/or growing existing accounts. This involves a high degree of flexibility in handling several tasks with main focus on 360 degrees Customer satisfaction. Duties can strecht from event/meeting co-ordination, to marketing of Customer success stories, to thorough market research (i.e. new regional streaming players), to back-office activities such as demos set up/returns and to day to day problem solving on a variety of potential issues (i.e. handling shipping delays with the logistic team, review with the finance team credit exposures or invoicing issues of Clients).

Scope

Harmonic’s portfolio is made of complex Video streaming solution and/or SaaS (Software-As-A-Service) solutions. We seek for an analytical candidate, a quick learner and a fast-paced & result-driven that can build through effective teamwork trusted relationship with internal and external Customers/Partners.

Responsibilities of the selected candidate will include:

  • Developing a market research for the region in order to get new video streaming opportunities with existing key accounts and new customers;
  • Learn and make yours the Harmonic Go-To-Market model and strategy
  • Represent Harmonic and promote positive image and brand during relevant industry events
  • Help in identifying and qualifying new business with existing strategic key accounts in the given territory
  • Support the Sales Team by liasing internally with different stakeholders in order to shape customer centric solutions based on the specific needs of the customer
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of industry news and trends, products, services, and competitors

The Tactical Sales Support Intern will acquire core competencies that will empower she/he to get an outstanding understanding the customer’s business and technology environment.  The incumbent, after the internship, will be in a position to act as a Harmonic subject matter expert in product, solutions and market expertise. She/He will be an ambassador of Harmonic that can represent and encompass the sales organizations values of:

  • Customer Advocacy with the ability to listen to the customer to gain insight and then orchestrate teamwork validated solutions;

Education, Training

  • Degree in Business or Marketing, Master/MBA will be a plus
  • IT Skills must include proficient use of PowerPoint and excel as well as understanding of analytics
  • Fluency in English and Italian (oral and written), French desirable

SELECTION PROCEDURE

EFSA applies a policy of equal opportunities and does not discriminate on any grounds.

The selection is made on the basis of the eligibility criteria and of the candidates’ competencies, with due regard to an appropriate balance of nationality and gender.

A position as Trainee is offered on the basis of the business needs of the organisation and budget availability.

Steps of the selection procedure

  1. Candidates apply electronically via the online recruitment tool (selecting 2 areas of interest in order of preference). Candidates can update or withdraw their applications at any time.
  2. Applications are screened against the eligibility criteria defined in the Traineeship Call.
  3. Eligible candidates will be screened by EFSA’s units taking into account the candidates’ preferences indicated in the application and their competencies.
  4. The shortlisted candidates are required to undergo a telephone or on-line interview to discuss suitability for the role, mutual expectations and possible starting date.
  5. As a result of the interview, candidates can be selected, rejected or placed in a reserve list for future positions.
  6. Successful candidates will receive a Traineeship offer, stating the starting date, the tasks, the duration of the traineeship and the list of documents to be submitted before the start date.

EFSA will welcome trainees in two main intakes, according to availability and business needs: 1st November 2018 and 1st February 2019.

Please note that EFSA units can contact trainees placed in a reserve list at any time during the traineeship period, either due to last minute withdrawal of the candidate or early termination of a trainee’s traineeship.

Non-EU candidates are required to obtain the relevant VISA.

WHAT ARE THE SELECTION REQUIREMENTS

You must satisfy the following requirements on the closing date for submission of your application:

  1. Have obtained a university degree of at least 3 years by the closing date of applications (See Annex I for the minimum national qualifications);
  2. Have a good knowledge of English (minimum level: B2 according to CEFR);
  3. Have never been an EFSA trainee or employed by EFSA in any capacity, receiving any sort of remuneration;
  4. Meet the character requirements needed for the duties involved (e.g. a sworn affidavit to the effect that you have no criminal record).

La Banca centrale europea (BCE) ha avviato una nuova edizione dell’SSM Traineeship programme, il programma di tirocini formativi nell’ambito del Meccanismo Unico di Vigilanza (Single Supervisory Mechanism – SSM) finalizzato a promuovere la formazione di giovani talenti con specifiche competenze in materia di supervisione bancaria, contribuendo in tal modo alla creazione di una cultura comune europea di vigilanza.

Il programma avrà inizio il 1° ottobre 2018 e darà ai neolaureati la possibilità di orientare le future scelte lavorative attraverso un’esperienza di 12 mesi all’interno del Meccanismo Unico di Vigilanza e un coinvolgimento diretto – sotto la supervisione di un mentor – nelle attività dei Joint Supervisory Team presso una o due Autorità nazionali di vigilanza.
