Job responsibilities:

  • Check inventory availability or status of shipment, verify customer pricing, prepare and process customer’s orders.
  • Process orders, service contracts and workorders under a specific assigned country and or customers
  • Follow up on customer’s orders which requires further information shipping date versusplanned installation date
  • Upon request of Supervisor work on specific assignment (administrative tasks, reportmonitoring, invoicing follow up and quality checks) and share progress.
  • Contribute with suggestion and ideas for improving the internal NPS (net promoting score)for customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to customers and the commercial organization for purchases, including:
  •  Respond quickly to customer enquiries, and ensuring that the customer is regularly updated on the status of their request if it cannot be resolved quickly
  • Providing documentation for pre-order product qualification
  • Supporting the commercial organisation with the coordination of customer tenders and annual pricing agreements
  • Reviewing customer purchase orders, placing customer orders into ERP system and ensuring any customer specific requirements are specified
  •  Coordinating with production, purchasing, supply chain, order management and sales operations as required to ensure customer demands are correctly fulfilled
  •  Provide proactive information to customers if any changes occur through the order fulfillment cycle
  •  Liaise with all key stakeholders to mitigate impact to customer if delays occur through order fulfilment cycle
  • Managing customer sample orders and inventory reserves
  •  Provide supporting documentation to the customer as required
  • Take ownership of service complaints, working with other key stakeholders to ensure a satisfactory resolution is reached.
  •  Actively seeks to broaden knowledge of products, processes and proactively seeks solutions.
  •  Participates in process improvements initiatives
  • Share your knowledge and train new members

Key Accountability/Impact

Accountable for the customer experience for customers buying raw materials or customized products from Merck Life Science

Scope

  •  The scope of this role is to support customers where goods are being purchased to be directly incorporated into product manufacture.
  •  Additionally, this role provides support to customers purchasing customized products
  •  Geographical scope is supporting customers across Western Europe and for some businesses worldwide.

Education

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree (it depends of the European country school system)
  •  Fluent in English

Desirable

  •  Basic Scientific or Business background
  • Additional European language skills

Work Experience

  •  Experience of working within in a fast-paced service related role, ideally within customer service, sales support, logistics or supply chain environment
  •  Demonstrated ability to deal with customers
  •  Strong Commercial acumen
  • Experience of working to deadlines and managing multiple tasks and priorities is essential.
  •  Process improvement experience with demonstrated results
  •  Experience of working in a large, multi-national organization with cross-functional teams

This is a 6-month paid internship with the potential to convert to a permanent role.

What will you do

Working with the Country Manager and Marketing Manager for Italy, this digital-savvy employee will be responsible for social media, email communications, PR, events, and content creation, among other things.

Working alongside the marketing manager, a central marketing team in the Netherlands and other country interns, you’ll incorporate online tools and in-person networking to create and nurture customer relationships and ultimately build the company’s brand, both online and off.

  • Content creation – writing blog posts, articles, emails, newsletters, website content, and material for social media channels;
  • Social media marketing – creating, managing and growing the company’s Italy presence through blogs, Twitter, Facebook, and other strategically relevant online properties. Community management of Facebook;
  • Events and event planning – organising and attending events to build awareness and generate new business leads;
  • Public relations – working with a PR agency to generate content for press releases, partner blogs and editorial features;
  • Email marketing – creating, sending and reporting on email communications for the company in the Italy;
  • Analytics – Using Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, eCRM and other measurement tools to provide reports on metrics, and continually find ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives;
  • Business development – identifying and building relationships with online influencers to build awareness and generate new business leads;
  • Customer research – understanding the target audience and identifying and creating customer profiles.
