JOB DETAILS:
ISS is seeking a pool of talented and self- motivated research interns for the winter/spring of 2019. Our interns will be assigned to a dynamic regional markets and guided by our top experienced analysts.
As an Executive Compensation Analyst, you will become an integral part of the team with the crucial role of helping deliver data and research on compensation proposals of listed companies. The internships coincide with the so-called “proxy voting season”, i.e. when most listed companies convene their annual shareholder meetings.
Responsibilities
- Assist our analysts by closely inspecting publicly disclosed documents of listed companies
- Learn about executive compensation and pay practice throughout Europe
- Gather data based on information in the company’s public documents
Qualifications

A relevant master degree in economics, business, finance or law or in the process of obtaining such a degree.

An interest in corporate governance, executive compensation, capital markets, research and data collection

A good eye for detail
-
Fluent English writing skills
-
Fluent command or good level of French and/or Italian and/or German. Spanish/Dutch would be an asset.

The ability to assimilate large quantities of information, work independently and take initiative while also being a team player

An organized and structured mind to deal with large quantities of work and strict deadlines
This internship is remunerated (€ 1650 gross monthly) and will run for 3-4 months starting in February 2019.

Job Details:
ISS is seeking a pool of talented and self-motivated data interns for the winter/spring of 2019. The internships coincide with “proxy voting season” supporting listed companies with their annual shareholder meeting responsibilities. Data Procurement interns will assist ISS’ corporate governance analysts with data procurement, agenda coding and voting analytics of the annual general meetings of publicly traded companies. As a Data Procurement intern, you will become an integral part of the team with the crucial role of helping deliver data and research on shareholder meetings of listed companies.
Responsibilities
- Procure meetings materials (agendas , proxy cards , annual reports ) from companies and process the meetings in our bespoke software
- Procure voting results from meetings and enter into our bespoke software
- Learn how to ‘code’ the procured meeting materials into a standard format for our clients
- Engage with companies in order to obtain all required information
- Act as a support for all other internal departments with regards to all questions related to companies, meetings etc.
Qualifications

A relevant bachelor degree in political sciences, economics, business or finance or in the process of obtaining such a degree.

A good eye for detail with strong analytical and numeracy ability

Strong oral and written communication skills

The ability to assimilate large quantities of information, work independently and take initiative while also being a team player

An organized and structured mind to deal with large quantities of work and strict deadlines

English Fluent (both spoken and written)

A minimum one of the following languages to a native standard:

This internship is remunerated (€ 1650 gross monthly) and will run for 4-5 months starting in January/February 2019.

Position Overview
ISS is seeking a pool of talented and self- motivated research interns for the winter/spring of 2019. Our interns will be assigned to a dynamic regional market (French, Southern Europe, Benelux, Germanic, Eastern Europe & Nordic) and guided by our top experienced analysts.
As a Junior Research Analyst, you will become an integral part of the team with the crucial role of helping deliver data, research and vote recommendations on shareholder meetings of listed companies. The internships coincide with “proxy voting season” supporting listed companies with their annual shareholder meeting responsibilities.
You will be assessing the corporate governance performance of the listed companies and supporting our clients making informed voting decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze governance structures and performance of publicly listed companies and provide investors with the according/appropriate recommendations.
- Gather data based on information in the company’s public documents.
- Engage with companies in order to procure additional information.
- Prepare reports detailing the analyses and explaining why a certain vote recommendation was given.
Qualifications:
- A relevant master degree in economics, business, finance, law or political sciences or in the process of obtaining such a degree.
- A prior experience in a relevant area will be considered as an advantage.
- A strong analytical ability, numeracy, strong oral and written communication skills.
- The ability to assimilate large quantities of information, work independently and take initiative while also being a team player.
- An organized and structured mind to deal with large quantities of work and strict deadlines
- English fluent (both spoken and written)
- A minimum of one of the following languages to a native standard:
- French to cover the French market
- Italian to cover Italian market
- Spanish or Portuguese or Greek to cover the Southern European market
- French or Dutch to cover the Benelux market
- German to cover the Germanic market
- Polish or Russian to cover the Eastern European market
- Danish or Swedish or Norwegian or Finnish to cover the Nordic market
This internship is remunerated (€ 1000 gross monthly + transport refunding) and will run for 3 to 6 months starting in February 2019, depending on the covered markets.
