The AWS Tech U Program is an accelerated career development program for new graduates who want to advance their skills and help customers design flexible and resilient cloud-based solutions. This residency program consists of two phases: a six-month academic curriculum followed by three to six months of experiential learning in the field. Basic Qualifications

  • Completed or currently on a Bachelors/ Masters degree related to Computer Science/ Engineering/ Networking/ Information Technology/ Information Systems/ Mathematics/ Physics etc.
  • Programming experience in one of the following languages: Java, C++, or C
  • Academic and/or practical experience in three or more of the following areas: networking, security, storage, database, architecture/infrastructure/OS and web or application development.
  • Experience using and adapting to new technologies with strong motivation to learn new technical skills
  • Advanced to fluent proficiency in English
  • Must be able to relocate and work for the first 6 months in our Spanish office in Madrid

Preferred Qualifications

  • Cloud Awareness: Experience implementing a cloud-based technology solution in a school project or while working for a company desired.
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations
  • Experience working within the software development or Internet industries is highly desired
  • Troubleshooting: Experience with QA, testing, helpdesk, IT support, or any technician or quality assurance type work desired.
  • Experience managing application stacks from the OS up through custom applications or experience designing or implementing distributed systems, algorithms and relational databases desired
  • Knowledge of programming or other scripting languages and coding skills (C/C++/C#, Node.JS, Java, Python, PHP, Ruby) desired.
  • Knowledge of fundamentals of Networking, Security, Databases (Relational and/or NoSQL), Operating Systems (Unix, Linux, and/or Windows) desired.
  • Experience with one or more of the following domains: systems administration (Linux/Window), network administration (DNS, IPsec, BGP, VPN, Load Balancing), or programming (Node.JS, Java, Ruby, C#, Python, or PHP) desired.
  • Working knowledge of AWS services, such as Elastic Compute Cloud, Elastic Block Storage, and Simple Storage Service desired.

Our technical specialists will help customers experiment with proofs of concept, provide guidance on AWS best practices, and help customers and partners succeed in their implementation projects. These professional services engagements will focus on key customer solutions such as web applications, enterprise applications, HPC, IoT, batch processing, big data, archiving, and disaster recovery.

AWS Professional Services engages in a wide variety of projects for customers and partners, providing collective experience from across the AWS customer base. Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field.

  • BS level technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • Expertise in one or more programming languages (preferably Python or Java.)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Computer Science or Math background preferred.

You will partner with customers and several AWS teams to craft highly scalable, flexible and resilient cloud architectures that address customer business problems. As a trusted customer advocate, you will help organizations understand best practices around cloud-based solutions, and how to migrate existing workloads to the cloud. You will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and broad use of AWS within organizations.

The Associate Cloud Developer is a one-year program. At the end of the program you will choose a track suited to your strengths and preference. These tracks include:

  • DevOps Specialist – A leader in building advanced computing systems that harness continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines and utilize the strengths of cloud computing to build scalable and economical systems for clients.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Architect – An expert in cloud-based networking and system rollouts. CIAs specialize in network performance, infrastructure provisioning, and building Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
  • Application Developer – AppDev resources are specialists in designing applications that run natively in the cloud. They are experts in building programs that run on any number of platforms including virtualized instances, containers, or serverless architecture.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field
  • Programming in one or more object-oriented languages like Java/Python/C#/Ruby/Objective C/C++.
  • Strong communication skills. This is a customer facing role and you will be frequently interacting with clients.
  • Ability to travel to client locations to deliver professional services when needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Specialized technical degree or equivalent experience, and/or graduate degree. Experience running research projects or programming analytics applications is a plus.
  • Industry Cloud Computing Certifications
  • A proven ability to analyze in depth a complex subject using statistical methods and/or programming techniques.
  • Understanding of systems engineering and architecture, including the inputs, outputs, requirements and dependencies of complex systems
  • Customer focused attitude. The ability to empathize with clients and be their advocate
  • Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive.
