Key Skills & Background:

Technical Knowledge

• Awareness of JavaScript/Css/Html5 technologies: AngularJS, Typescript, Gulp, Karma, Jasmine, JsHint, NPM, Istanbul, SaSS, PhantomJS, Bootstrap
• High expertise with Java technologies: Spring Suite, J2EE, Maven, jUnit…
• High expertise with CI and testing tool: RTC, Jenkins, Sonar, jMeter, selenium…
• Experience with containers: WAS, Tomcat, Bluemix

Engineering Skills

• Expertise in Domain Driven Design and REST API Design
• Expertise in building distributed applications in the Cloud
• Familiar with different design techniques, design pattern and software development concept and where to apply it
• Highly familiar with continuous integration
• Experience in applying risk based testing strategy as opposed to brute force
• Know the key metrics to be measured and how to measure it

Scrum Skills

• Familiar with scrum methodology
• Experience working in an agile environment as a developer

Business Knowledge

• Basic Banking knowledge.
• Specific experience in fund administration and financial instrument management is an asset

About the role:

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Design, develop and test a large-scale, custom distributed software systems using latest Java and JavaScript technologies
• Employ Agile development practices including test and deployment automation as well as Continuous Integration to improve overall execution speed and product quality
• Pair program and review code with other team members
• Participate in planning and estimation throughout development cycle
• Stay up-to-date by learning new technologies and help shape new offerings to our business
• Think through hard problems and solve them with your team
• Work in a dynamic, collaborative, transparent, non-hierarchal, and ego-free culture where your talent is valued over a role title
• Be a key partner to the business, the rest of the team and the rest of the organization
• Bring new ideas to the table and challenge the status quo
• Be a CI/Quality advocate
• Share expertise with other team members
• Support release implementation

Halian is looking for 3 Java Developer with 3 years of experience for the European institution in Luxembourg:

The developer profile is responsible for development and maintenance of existing and possible new tools used by service modules.

Main activities/profile:

• At least 3 years of experience in software development
• Skills and experience with Java, Spring Framework, Perl, PHP, Unix Shell Scripting, Oracle, JavaScript, SQL, Tomcat, Apache, Maven, RSS/JSON, MySQL, etc.
• Analyzing customer requirements
• Developing existing programs by analyzing and identifying areas for modification
• Presenting ideas for system improvements
• Software architecture design, together with architecture team
• Creating technical specifications, writing program code and documenting
• Testing the product in controlled situations before going live
• Preparation of training manuals for users
• Maintaining the systems once they are up and running
• Being helpful, respectful, team oriented and keeping others informed
• Interested and willing to learn new technologies

English is mandatory.

Only candidate with eligible work permit for Europe will be considered.
