PURPOSE: To provide support to the Guide Training Team to achieve the highest guide quality standards by ensuring the best guides are trained and available to deliver Company tours.
Reporting to the Guide Training Supervisor, he/she will look after guide training programs, acting as a support for guide queries by phone and email.
PRIMARY RESPONSABILITIES
- Support the Guide Training Supervisor in organizing workshop and training calendar
- Update guide related documentation (welcome pack, tour outlines, etc.) with current company procedures
- Develop and grow a constructive and long term relationship with the guides
- Handle general queries from local guides by email or phone identifying training needs
- Ensure regular guide performance evaluations
- Assist in managing guide payments and expenses, supporting and coaching guides through the guide scheduling system
- Assist the Guide Training Supervisor with data collection
- Provide reports for Managers to enable them to monitor guide performance and to address training needs
DESIRED/REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Excellent organisational, communication and analytical skills
- A quick learner willing to take on a dynamic and intense environment and to successfully manage the workload
- Computer/internet literacy with an excellent knowledge of all basic Office applications (Word, Excel) and ability to learn how to use our databases to store, manage and update information
- Good typing skills and courteous and professional phone manner
- A can-do attitude
- A willingness to suggest and develop solutions to problems and to consider how processes and procedures can be improved
- An ability to work on own initiative and to make timely decisions in response to real-time operational scenarios
- A track record in problem-solving and ‘thinking outside the box’ with an ability to find common sense solutions in response to a variety of operational scenarios
- An ability to learn quickly detailed processes regarding our tours
EXPERIENCE:
- Degree in Business Administration, Communication, Tourism or another related field preferred
- Past experience working in an international environment will be useful
- Fluent/Native English is an absolute requirement
- Fluent/Advanced Italian is an absolute requirement
- French as a second language will be an advantage
