The selected candidate will work in the R&D Innovation Department with other experts in the field and will report to RGI R&D Innovation Director.

The main activities required to the selected candidate aims at consolidating and widening the general knowledge and technological knowhow of RGI in the field of Data Science and Machine Learning. 

Responsibilities

  • Research and construction of data driven models (turning data into information)
  • Selecting features, building and optimizing classifiers using machine learning techniques
  • Data mining using state-of-the-art methods
  • Extending company’s data with third party sources of information when needed
  • Enhancing data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building analytic systems
  • Research and implementation of technologies to spot (in near-real-time) rare events in noisy, complex time-series
  • Research application with vertical focus on the Insurance Industry

Experiences

Excellent experience in academic research, with a deep understanding of statistical and predictive modeling concepts, machine-learning approaches, clustering and classification techniques, and recommendation and optimization algorithms.

Proven experiences in solving algorithmic and computational problems.

Technical competences

  • Research Topics:  Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning and Deep Learning, Sentiment Analysis, Human-Robot Interaction
  • NLP and IR tools: OpenNLP, Stanford Parser, GATE/UIMA, Lucene/Solr, Elasticsearch
  • Machine Learning: Scikit-Learn, Spark ML/MLIB, TensorFlow, Weka, Svm-Light, LibSVM

We are looking for candidates for new projects related to Earth Observation Research and Big Data Analysis. Background

Master Degree in Engineering, Physics or equivalent. Competence in applied Earth Observation/Remote Sensing applications, such as:

  • EO data, in particular SAR and optical, analysis and exploitation

Job description

Main tasks:

  • Primary responsibility would be to keep the big data infrastructure operational across various environments.
  • Install and manage various tools & tech stack that is required for the Big Data Team.
  • Work with the team to build the big data platform infrastructure reference architecture.
  • Understand all components of the platform infrastructure in order to analyze impact of alerts and other system messages.
  • Proactively monitor systems and drive troubleshooting and tuning.
  • Be the point of contact for production issues and alerts and resolve the issues in a timely manner.
  • Complete tasks required to maintain SLA’s and availability of all supported applications/platforms and tools.
  • Manage security of the infrastructure.
