DXT Commodities, for its Lugano office, is looking for a data scientist to strengthen the analysis team that supports traders of the Power Trading desk. Applicants should have at least two years of relevant working experience.
The position requires a passion for quantitative development but also strong business acumen, given the continuous interactions with Traders, Meteorologists, Analysts and IT developers.
This is an exciting opportunity to apply advanced statistics in a dynamic and challenging environment.
Tasks:
The successful applicant will maintain and improve forecasting models to provide quantitative support to traders and analysts.
The statistical problems to solve will require exposure to time series analysis, functional data analysis and image recognition.
Requirements:
- At least two years of post-graduate experience in developing statistical models, and incrementally improve the accuracy of results
- Advanced degree in Statistics (Mathematics, Physics, Economics)
- Proficiency in Python and R
- Basic knowledge of PL/SQL
- Willingness to keep up with the newest machine learning and AI techniques
- Fluent in English, a second European language is a plus
