This role will involve supporting and developing our software products. These products have host and client components.
The host components are on the IBM mainframe, the client components can be on Windows/Linux and could be combination of eclipse plugins or VS Code extensions.
You will be part of a multi-skilled global team with a wide range of skills that support products used in the large enterprises in development and operational/production environments.
This role will involve coordinating with other mainframe/host developers and testers as well as coordinating with client developers and testers developing for eclipse or VS Code
Qualifications
- Fluent English speaker/writer is a plus
- 5+ years of software development
- The candidate must have the aptitude and willingness to embrace unfamiliar technology and learn new skills
- You are familiar with the mainframe, its various sub-systems, features etc (TSO, ISPF, CICS, Batch, DB2, IMS, VSAM, PDSE/2, exits, SCLM, LMS, DUMPS, Abend analysis etc)
- You have mainframe software development experience using: C, Java, JCL, HLASM, REXX
- You code fluently in C & Java – mainframe and Windows/Linux
- You have developed eclipse plugins or VS Code extensions
- You have used RCPTT (Eclipse Rich Client Platform Test Tool) or some other test automation tools
- Git / GitHub, Jenkins, Scripting languages (shell, bat, powershell, Perl, Python, etc). Maven, Nexus/Jfrog artifactory
- You are prepared to adjust your working day to overlap (2-3 hours daily) with Perth, Australia
- You are prepared to give a demonstration of your skills at an interactive technical interview.
Advantageous skills:
- Familiarity with z/OS Explorer, IBM File Manager or IBM Fault Analyzer for z/OS or similar products
- Familiarity with other test automation tools (mainframe and eclipse)
