HOURS: 35 – 38 hours/week, some evening hours required

STIPEND: Euro 800/month

DESCRIPTION

The University of Washington Rome Center (UWRC) seeks a student to join our administrative team. The goal of the internship is to develop organizational and administrative skills within the context of an educational environment and to improve written and spoken knowledge of the English language.

The selected person will work in collaboration with UWRC staff and will carry out the following activities:

  • Coordinate arrangement of program excursions, site visits and other activities. Includes making reservations at museums, archeological sites or other attractions as well as making arrangements for field trips by reserving charter buses, hotels, and restaurants.
  • Assist with the management of facilities, including management of the UWRC apartment cleaning schedule, inspection of off-site apartments and facilitating resolution of apartment maintenance requests.
  • Assist students and faculty with use of UWRC resources (e.g., computer lab, library), including setting up and running educational technology with classrooms and studio, providing basic IT troubleshooting (printing problems, paper jams, etc.).
  • Provide support for conferences and special events, including coordinating catering, transportation, room set-up and clean up, and AV/technology support.
  • Assist with program onboarding procedures including preparing correspondence for faculty, checking in students on arrival day, preparing required immigration paperwork to local police and escorting students and faculty to register with the local immigration office, etc.
  • Arrange transportation from and to the airport for faculty, student and guests.
  • Serve as information source for studens and faculty, assist students and faculty in making doctor’s appointments, mailing and receiving packages, refilling print accounts, questions about travel, etc.

Translate documents from Italian to English and vice versa.
